Despite being one of the most innovative guitarists from the last 30 years, Morello's guitar rig has always been famously simple, relying on a trusty amp overdrive for his gnarly sonic signature. The Tom Morello Power 50 Overdrive re-creates the preamp stages of Morello's amplifier, and gives you the same tone, gain, and presence controls. Complete with a built-in effects loop (placed before the presence and tone circuits, just like on Morello's amp), the MXR Tom Morello Power 50 Overdrive pedal puts a half-stack's worth of tonal tenacity on your pedalboard.

Guitarists are pleased to report the Power 50 Overdrive's built-in effects loop is configured just like it is on Morello's amp of choice. The effects loop injects external effects pedals before the presence and tone circuits, giving your effects added harmonic bite. It's the key to conjuring Morello's signature wah tone — placing your wah in front of the Power 50 Overdrive offers a mellower effect; placing it in the effects loop gives it a more aggressive edge without sacrificing tonal balance.
